I Have Never Been So Excited
Fang Lu, single channel video installation, Wall paper with prints, 2019, video length 8’40”, language: Mandarin with Chinese and English subtitle

The video is a woman talking to the viewer about her state of ecstasy. The monologue of her internal journey deals with the complete awareness to all the expressions of reality, and hyper sensitivity to the most subtle movements. But her ecstatic existence can also be experienced as madness or plain noise for the observer, because it is beyond the realm of subjectivity. In some way, this “madness” and “noise” is the spark of inspiration. Her sense of “self” is translucent and crystalized. It reflects all her physical surroundings – she becomes the moment that embraces her.
